Costa Rica beer kicks Bud while it's down

Imperialfactory Imperialvolcano Y&R Irvine has no designs on Anheuser-Busch business, judging by the dismissive opinion of the St. Louis brewer offered in Y&R’s new ads for Costa Rica’s Imperial beer. Even now that it’s a Belgian beer, Budweiser gets no respect. Via Adland.

Cute! But are they real? I'm in Costa Rica and Imperial's agency here is and has always been the local Garnier BBDO.

Sounds more like someone from that creative team enjoyed an "Imperial vacation" down in here in this rainy lands. :)

Y&R Advertising, Irvine is in Irvine California. Not Costa Rica Rogelio. :)

Imperial = .0000001% of the US market. So who cares? Money would be better spent actually building their own brand rather than taking a punch at a leader. That's just naive in the business and this shows why advertising agencies are being marginalized in every CMO's mind.
