International crisis leads to condom ad ban
A territorial dispute between Japan and South Korea over two islands in the Sea of Japan has led South Korea to ... ban Japanese condom ads from the subways in Seoul. We have no idea how those two things are related, either, but we’ll chalk it up to nationalistic sentiment. A spokesman for Seoul Metro candidly chalks the decision up to “an anti-Japanese sentiment brewing among citizens,” as well as a general dislike of condom ads. And to be fair, some Japanese condoms are pretty offensive.
