Manny: machine wash cold, tumble dry low
Boston Red Sox slugger Manny Ramirez was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers last Thursday. ESPN agency Ground Zero quickly sprang into action, and by lunchtime Friday, “nearly every Laundromat in Los Angeles county had at least one ‘Lost Red Sock.’ ” Even the Encino Quickie Wash? The agency’s interns must have loved tooling around all day, dropping off socks, pocketing fabric softener. More important: I haven’t heard back from the Sox about me being their new Wally mascot. Maybe I’ll leave furry green leggings in laundromats around Boston with the note: “Hey, Sox, make me Wally!” It wouldn’t be much dumber than most of the stuff Manny said and did during his stay in Boston. Yea, Manny is not the brightest bulb on the tree.
Those socks will be rented for a few short months. Look for Manny to be wearing pin stripes next year.

Unfortunately, the Yanks are too smart to take a chance on Manny. The Mets will take him, after which point he will spend at least 40% on the DL. Cf. Martinez, Pedro; Vaughn, Mo.

Congrats, Dodger fans. You've got one of the best in the game. As a Boston Red Sox fan, I do believe some of them a slightly jealous because manny seems perfectly content and happy where he is now. You're going to love him, as I do.

Dear LA,
A few things you need to get through your wanna-be fan little heads...
1) Getting rid of Manny, we got Jason Bay...I'm pretty sure we got the long end of that stick by a long shot!!
2) It upsets you that our teams are kicking a$$ & taking names while yours...I'm sorry, what were the names of your teams again?! I know you have several out there....
3) A pointer about being a REAL FAN: Learn to let your hair down, get a lil sweaty and CHEER DAMMIT! I'm pretty sure the Lakers had no idea they had fans in the Staples Center, y'all were so quiet.
4) What exactly do we have to be jealous of? Curiousity has me?!
5) We had an infection on our team known as Manny-itis and it went from being a very powerful positive to a very powerful negative that had to be gotten rid of. We're appreciative of his service but it's not about yesterday, it's about today, right now and the TEAM.
The body known as the Red Sawx is healing beautifully and moving on! So, no, we're not sad or jealous or despondent or any other negative. If he ends up in pinstripes, it is what it is. Next!!
