McCain ads continue to just piss people off

Browne Speaking of John McCain's pop-culture exploits, he's currently in trouble with Jackson Browne for using his song "Running on Empty" in campaign ads. Only a Republican would crib a song from a guy who hasn't had a hit in like 20 years. But it might not be McCain's fault. According to his campaign, "the ad in question is not a McCain campaign ad but one put together by the Ohio Republican Party." Really, it doesn't matter who made the ad, because someone thought associating the phrase "Running on Empty" with McCain would help his chances. And people thought Bush was dumb.

Looks like Jackson went to Glamour Shots for that blue leather photo.

Never understood the appeal of Mr. Browne. Or John McCain.

Uh...the ad was McCain accusing Obama of running on empty.

And to me the real story is Browne actually filing suit. Not even Mellencamp, Springsteen or the guy from Orleans were lame enough to do anything more than tell their respective campaigns to stop, and leave it at that. I don't like McCain either, but Browne comes off as a major douchebag.

20 years? The Beach Boys hasn't had a hit in 20 years. Jackson Browne hasn't had a hit in 30 years.

---No, only an American who understands that not everyone is a hip 18-25 double-latte drinker nows that "Running on Empty" is a lot more appealing than anything by The Jonas Brothers.

Creativity is about setting trends, not following them. McCain's ad people know what they're doing.

You might just find that Jackson will be known and remembered long after say Rhianna.

Wouldn't the conservative republicans want to shun a musician who became a father at age 14? ...well maybe he was 15.

I'd like to see some honesty in politics. If Obama's campaign would print bumper stickers that read 'OBAMA: running on empty' then my wish would come true.
