Eliza Dushku wants to eat your mushy brain
Dollhouse star Eliza Dushku is hungry for human brains. No, really. Her ad for Hulu.com, by Crispin Porter + Bogusky, picks up where Alec Baldwin's Super Bowl spot left off, admitting that the site was designed to give alien celebrities unprecedented access to our delicious mental matter. Of course, it took me a couple of views to retrieve this information, since her cleavage was jiggling right in front of the camera while she explained all this. There is a flaw in her plan, though. Once Dollhouse gets canceled after one season like every other Joss Whedon project that doesn't have "Buffy" in the title, she'll be back to square one. |

Oooh, I love Eliza Dushku! and I love this commercial! :) But I'd have to agree, Joss Whedon's show somewhat flops without "Buffy" in it... but I hope Dollhouse rocks! :)

I don't understand why Hulu or CP+B made this commercial. The production is far from as interesting as the Baldwin Super Bowl spot. I mean all Eliza's really doing is walking toward camera and then she just restates what Baldwin said too. Is it that both client and agency are so small minded as to believe they needed a female version for a female audience? Seems like a waste to me.

I like the subtle alien reference, and the fact that they're sticking to the 'turns your brain into mush' theme, but it's no secret what Eliza's selling here.
"Hulu; you can watch my cleavage on it."

I think Dollhouse is more Fox cancels all sci fi shows without "X-Files" in the title after 1 year...It's an interesting idea but Whedon goes too human element (again) and it's a confusing topic to grasp without jumping on board at day 1 which is another whedon flaw (FIREFLY!) which maybe whedon will realize his ideas work much better in movies. (Serenity rocked :))
As for the Hulu ad...yeah they had shock value in the baldwin ad (Both me and my GF were turning white at it) but this is more...look at the pretty boobies

Oddly redundant posts notwithstanding, Fred is right. It's essentially a virtual remake of the Alec Baldwin commercial -- only with bigger breasts. The gimmick, the setup, the payoff are exactly the same. Is that necessarily a bad thing? I suppose not. But I would hope that they'd flesh out the concept more in subsequent spots.
Another thing: As entertaining as the commercials themselves are, they don't do a great job communicating the actual benefits of Hulu. I'd already bookmarked Hulu months before the first spot ran. But if these commercials were my first exposure to Hulu, I'm not sure I'd understand what makes it so unique. All I'd remember is that Alec Baldwin is a brain-eating alien. Would I be sufficiently intrigued to check out Hulu.com? Not sure.

Big difference: Alec Baldwin's version only featured one boob. This featured two, and they're spectacular!
