'Fast Company' picks most creative ad folksFast Company has made its picks for the 10 most creative people in advertising and marketing. It's no surprise who came in No. 1 from the magazine that once described Alex Bogusky as a "mechanic of cool" and quoted a gushing staffer comparing him to Jesus. Bogusky beats out Lee Clow, Jeff Goodby and Dan Wieden, in that order. Bob Greenberg rounds out the top five. The rest of the list is pretty eclectic, including Target CMO Michael Francis on the client side, Naked's Paul Woolmington and Barbarian Group's Noah Brier. Whom would you add or subtract from the list? —Posted by Brian Morrissey |

I wonder how many pages of Apple and Microsoft ad space Chiat and CPB agreed to buy inside Fast Company in return for their creative heads to get on top of a silly list. Well, at least the mag reading rubes won't be smart enough to make the connection.

Is it just me or does Bogusky appear to be sporting a hitler mustache in that pic? Almost looks like someone drew it on the photo after it was shot, lol.
(i can't be the only person who thought that, come on now...)

I like that hippie-peace-psychedelic plaque in the foreground. Cool.

Come on. We all know these lists are written to create controversy so everyone will read them and madly comment - driving all kinds of free publicity to the publication.
Take this for what it's worth - one Fast Company editor's opinion. We could all make our own (different) lists and be just as valid.

Rich Silverstein.

I'd add Jason R. Menendez, Jr Copywriter in St. Louis. Stellar book.
Big lesson here though kids: HAIR. If not - a colorful beret to distract from the lack of hair. Except for Dan, in which case it must be his scent. Though I've never smelled the man, personally. But I've heard he smells great.

If we're truly honest about this, the most creative people are usually the ones WORKING for the people mentioned. The people mentioned are the champions and nurturers of the work, and get it sold. Really. Although Alex Bogusky is pretty creative, there are countless creatives he gave license to be creative, and supported and nurtured -- which is a more noble cause.
