So, they're saying Lady Liberty stinks?!When DeVito/Verdi added the Duane Reade account some weeks back, there were those who believed that the iconic and ubiquitous New York drugstore chain didn't need a brand image campaign and was probably better off without one. Judging from this ad, they were right. She smells like freedom, people! Or, at the very worst, like chili-dogs and nachos from the Liberty Island snack bar. With all due respect David, I don't see many people thinking that Duane Reade implies the Statue Of Liberty "stinks" with this ad.

I live in New York, and let me tell you, there are some foul stenches coming from the sewers and subways. Not that I don't love New York, but the city could use a little deodorant.

Uh, yeah. About that post. Yes - I think your assessment is correct. I suspect they were banking on the SOL as an icon for NY, which it clearly isn't.
And, as an aside - Canadians aren't that stupid thanks. At least we can spell toque.

The only foul stenches in NYC is this ridiculous attempt at creative. This agency is dead.
