DDB presents an 'asstounding' Reebok spot
Kudos to M&C Saatchi DDB Chicago for billing its new butt-centric Reebok spots as "asstounding." The shop doesn't monkey around with what it's after in promoting the EasyTone, a sneaker Reebok has targeted at the baby-got-back crowd for its leg- and caboose-toning capabilities. The spot above, called "Wandering Eye," stars a shapely spokeswoman who can't get the camera operator from coming in for close-ups of her backyard, although she seems quite flattered by it. The inspired tagline: "Better legs and a better butt with every step." Reebok is running the spots on broadcast and cable TV over the next four weeks, marking the brand's first major TV effort in two years. What a way to come back. UPDATE: DDB, not M&C Saatchi, did the creative here. M&C is the PR agency on the campaign. —Posted by Brian Morrissey Previously on AdFreak: |

wow. it looks like this ad is perfect to get guys to go out and buy their women a pair of these. Only problem is... the women are going to take the shoe and throw it back at their men for insinuating they need a butt lift by getting them these shoes.
Next time Reebok wants to sell women's shoes, they should target the ads to women...not ogling men....

For a commercial selling sex to sell shoes, there was nothing sexy about her booty!

Is this really any more offensive than the Swiffer commercials in which women are stalked by their ex-feather dusters and mops? There's even one where a woman's cast-off broom drops its towel in front of her (it had been hoping to lure her into the hot tub). Talk about inappropriate and creepy!

I object to the marketing of the sneaker that supposedly helps women firm up their butt and thighs. How can our sons and daughters develop a healthy self image and sexual identity when you inundate the media with images that objectify womens bodies and are not representative to how real women look?
Come on, you have a great product, why can't you make marketing decisions based on real advantages and attributes of your product and quit the soft porno? We will buy the sneakers without T & A!

This is a great commercial. To all the "real" women out there, get over it. You think they're gonna have a size 18 women showing off these shoes and then explaining the benefits of how they work? Doesn't make much sense to me. However, a beautiful fit young women (who is obviously a personal trainer of some sort) gives women who aren't her size reason to believe that those shoes could be the answer. It's brilliant marketing.

First of all the chick in this commercial has NO BUTT so why would anyone want to buy these shoes? Ever hear of a little song by 90's one hit wonder Sir Mix a Lot "Baby Got Back" OBVIOUSLY NOT. With the recent booty obsession that has taken this country by storm thanks to curvaceous celebs such as Serena Williams, Kim Kardashian, J. Lo and Beyonce I'm wondering why Reebok & DDB Chicago opted not to do a celebrity endorsement on this one? This flat a** chick is not going to sell shoes at least not to women who fall into the demographic of ethnicities where men appreciate badunkadunks. I suggest they go back to the story boards and try again UNLESS the humor in this spot is that the camera man keeps zooming in on her flatty because he's trying to figure out what the hell she's talking about. THAT WOULD MAKE IT FUNNY

Ms. Spicer that is the very first thing my boyfriend and I thought when we saw the commercial, "where's that girl's booty they keep emphasizing?" hahaha thank you!

oh and Kevin I'm a size 4 and still don't agree with the commercial's tactics and I don't mean this exact commercial, but the reebok commercial where they focus on the woman's breasts the entire time and then pan to her panty wearing butt as she leans over. That's disgusting and doesnt promote anything except porn. No way do I or any self respecting women want to do that to themselves. Jealousy? I think not i would take my butt over theirs anyday

this is the most inappropriate commercial. I was watching a christmas movie with my young daughter and it came on the tv. how embarrassing for reebok!
