Christ's death helps out Safeway customers

Christ

It's good to know that all that suffering on the cross wasn't in vain. Safeway prices really are to die for. Thanks, Jesus! Via The Denver Egotist. UPDATE: A guy at FAIL Blog is taking responsibility for this, and says it was a prank he pulled on a couple of Safeways in the Seattle area a few Easters ago.

Pretty sacrilegious. Think I'll shop at Ralph's from now on.

Posted by: JimDoss | Nov 5, 2009 4:37:36 PM

Holy crap. (Pun intended)

I'd spend all my money on a Safeway right now, if I could.

Posted by: Rox | Nov 5, 2009 4:41:47 PM

That's so deep... and true.

Posted by: WoodyJohn | Nov 5, 2009 4:56:27 PM

that's a win, actually

Posted by: yoursavior | Nov 5, 2009 5:18:17 PM

JimDoss, your a tool. Someone not working for Safeway did this as a joke.

Posted by: DimJoss | Nov 5, 2009 5:22:41 PM

WOW! That's all I can say.

Posted by: Chris | Nov 5, 2009 5:46:07 PM

There used to be a large sign over a church near where I lived that said "JESUS SAVES!". Right behind it was a billboard with the slogan "Safeway saves you more!".

Posted by: Doc | Nov 5, 2009 6:25:50 PM

Is this real??

Posted by: jason | Nov 5, 2009 6:26:28 PM

JimDoss is a perfect example of how religious people take religion WAY too seriously.
And I'm sure he would love to reply with some "I stand up for my beliefs and christ is m savior." stuff... But The question I love to ask religious people is... What is wrong with other religions? Why is it, your god is the "only" god and the better god. Religion is just another label and or affiliation to fight over. Give it up already so we can all live as HUMANS and laugh together, on issues like Christ dying for low prices and Safeway. haha :)

Woops... I meant John Woods... Sorry Jim Doss.

Posted by: Tom | Nov 5, 2009 6:29:49 PM

I find it funny that Safeway and Ralphs are owned by the same Company... Kroger.

If anyone knows where to get a tshirt please list it here. Fantastic.

John Woods was obviously being sarcastic...his comment was the funniest of all, spoofing those religious individuals that make purchasing decisions based on the perceived religious affiliation of a company or organization.

Posted by: jv | Nov 5, 2009 8:39:15 PM

way to work in a message about us all living together as humans though. Twas powerful, inspiring and relevant...

Posted by: jv | Nov 5, 2009 8:41:24 PM

Religious bigotry is always funny to morons like some of you.

Posted by: David | Nov 5, 2009 9:49:30 PM

You really don't see a difference in Christianity and other religions??? You have to be blind.

Posted by: David | Nov 5, 2009 9:53:12 PM

Safeway isn't owned by Kroger! Safeway is its own company but owns Vons and Pavillions. Kroger is their competitor.

THIS IS FUNNY GUYS! JESUS WASN'T THE SAVIOR BY THE WAY. OBAMA IS. I SHOULD THINK THAT WOULD BE OBVIOUS TO US AS AMERICANS. IN THE NAME OF THE PRESIDENT AND THE BARACK AND THE HOLY OBAMA, AMEN.

Hey guys. I'm excited to see people saw it, finally. Here's a facebook photo gallery of the prank.
