So this will begin my Twitter social experiment. Each week I am going to add the 5 to follow. One of my points I keep spouting is that twitter is clutter and a very poor medium for adverting. The reason being if each brand or cause Tweets 4-8 times per day that once someone follows about 50 people there is no way to read/see all the tweets each day. So my experiment is to see what that critical number actually is before. I am going to log into Twitter 4 times per day and keep track of how many tweets are on my page that I haven't read and how many I actually bother to read, and how many I actually view. If I log in and see 20 tweets I will probably browse them and click a few links. If I log in and there is 50 or more most likely I will stick to viewing the first 1-2 pages only, and still click a few links. Eventually my guess is 80% of tweets will not even be browsed, which will prove to brands they have to tweet even more often adding more clutter and eventually never be seen or heard.
